The Installation Meeting of the Pride of Surrey Council

The Installation meeting of the Pride of Surrey Council No 168 took place in March. Present, and kindly occupying the Deputy Master and Principal Conductor of the Work’s Chairs for the Installation, were our Past District Grand Master, R.Ill. Comp. Arnold Long and our District Grand Master R.Ill. Comp. David Blackburn.

The Installation Meeting of the Pride of Surrey Council Ill.Comp. Chris Eley installed Comp. Barry Northmore as Thrice Illustrious Master for the year. Comp. Tim Ford was appointed and invested as the Deputy Master and Comp. Steve Jones was appointed and invested as the Principal Conductor of the Work. Ill.Comp. Chris Eley was then invested as Recorder taking over from V.Ill. Comp Laurie Young who had served the Council well as Recorder for a number of years.

The next item on the agenda was to Receive and Acknowledge as Most Excellent Masters’ Comp. Stuart de Fraine-Ford and Comp. Garth Blanchard. The T.I.M. Ill.Comp. Barry Northmore, adjourned the Council of Select Masters and opened a Lodge of Most Excellent Masters in due form. The R.W.M. assisted by his Officers then received and acknowledged as Most Excellent Masters Comps. Stuart de Fraine Ford and Garth Blanchard in a wonderful and meaningful fashion.

The Installation Meeting of the Pride of Surrey Council The R.W.M. then closed the Lodge of Most Excellent Masters and the T.I.M. resumed the Council of Select Masters. The District Grand Master and the Past District Grand Master congratulated Ill.Comp. Barry on an excellent ceremony.

The Installation Meeting of the Pride of Surrey Council During the meeting the Council voted for donations to be made to four Charitable causes dear to our hearts: The Surrey 2019 Craft Festival in aid of the RMBI; the Surrey 2022 Mark Festival in aid of the Mark Benevolent Fund; the Tadworth Childrens Trust Royal Arch Pegasus Bed appeal; and the Alzheimer’s Society.

After the customary photographs and a few drinks in the bar, the Companions of the Pride of Surrey Council and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable festive board at the Sutton Masonic Centre.
