The Installation Meeting of Chelsea Council

The Installation meeting of Chelsea Council No 72 took place at Surbiton Masonic Hall on Wednesday the 9th September. This was the second meeting of a Council in the District of Surrey since the resumption of Masonic meetings and after the Government announcement earlier that day we hope it won’t be the last.

The Council was opened by the Thrice Illustrious Master, Ill.Comp. David Grimmer, who welcomed everyone, especially the Deputy District Grand Master, Ill.Comp. Peter Kipps. The Deputy District Grand Master was saluted with 5 times 9 under the direction of the Director of Ceremonies.

The main item on the agenda was to read the Dispensation and install Comp. Mark Donovan as Thrice Illustrious Master for the year 2020/2021. This was done in a very socially distanced way under the guidelines from MMH.

The Installation Meeting of Chelsea Council After Ill.Comp. Mark was installed and the Officers of the year appointed and invested the Deputy District Grand Master wished the Thrice Illustrious Master an enjoyable year.

The Installation Meeting of Chelsea Council The Council voted to approve a donation towards Ill.Comp. Simon McCarthy’s 2020 mile bike ride in aid of the Mark 2022 Festival. Ill.Comp. Simon thanked the Companions for their support. For details of Simon’s ride and how to sponsor him click here.

After the Council was closed we all retired to the bar for a socially distanced drink together.
