A visit to Derbyshire
I always enjoy a visit to Derbyshire, principally for the fact that my daughter lives in Derby with her husband and daughter. The fact that on the first weekend in February the Derbyshire District Meeting takes place makes for a happy combination. I am excused while the girls head for shopping in the centre of Derby.
The Masonic Halls are at Littleover, a ten-minute drive to the south-west. I travelled up on Friday and returned on the Monday, our District Recorder travelled up and down on the day of the meeting.
The District Grand Master, R.Ill. Comp. Dr. Alan Beckerton welcomed all the visitors and in particular the Grand Recorder, R.Ill. Comp. Ryan Williams who later addressed the meeting. He gave an update on current membership, the delight that meetings were now face to face again and also some of the plans for the 150th anniversary celebrations next year.
The meeting saw the Installation of a new District PCW, Ill.Comp John Pope, seen here with R.Ill. Comp. Dr. Alan Beckerton and his Deputy, Ill.Comp. Ivor Tynan.
The visiting District Grand Masters congratulate the officers of the Derbyshire District…
